Situated in the heart of the Long Range Mountains, the northernmost reach of the Appalachian mountain chain, Eagle Mountain Lodge is a true wilderness resort offering guests some of the world's finest salmon fishing and snowmobiling experiences. The Lodge is located 70 km north of the Town of Deer Lake and borders the world-renowned Gros Morne National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The region is blessed with some of the highest snow cover in Eastern Canada (generally 8 to 12 feet deep), making for unparalleled back-country snowmobiling through river valleys and high-elevation open countryside (there are no groomed trails once reaching the Lodge). Guests are treated to spectacular vistas of the rugged, glacially-carved landscape and uninterrupted views from horizon to horizon.
The Lodge sits beside the Main River, one of the premier salmon fishing rivers in the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Designated a Canadian Heritage River, the Main passes through softwood forests, grasslands, floodplains and arctic-like barrens, with glacial valleys and deep canyons highlighting the impressive geology of the region. Moose, caribou and black bear make their homes here, together with lynx, mink, beaver, river otters and foxes.
Constructed from the finest locally-sourced timber, the Lodge provides our guests the necessary luxuries and comforts in a warm, inviting setting. The focal point is the Main Living Room, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows, wrap-around decks and stunning views over the Main River and the mountains of Gros Morne National Park. Enjoy a coffee by the magnificent fireplace and savor the aromas from the kitchen while our chefs prepare wholesome and creative meals featuring local ingredients. Meals are served in the Dining Room adjacent to the Main Living Room.
The Lodge offers eight (8) double bedrooms that sleep two persons, each with ensuite bathroom and shower. (A two-bedroom suite will be available 2018 season.) Please note that, as a wilderness resort, Eagle Mountain Lodge does not have cellular phone coverage. However, "voice over internet protocol" (VoIP) services such as FaceTime, etc., are possible through the Lodge's high-speed satellite internet connection.
Eagle Mountain Lodge also offers private Conference Room and lounge facilities for meetings, family get-togethers or special events.
